Duolingo for Learners: An Applied Linguist’s Perspective on User Experience

For my project, I explored Duolingo from the perspective of an applied linguist, focusing on the user experience. I analyzed how the app’s interface, gamification, and adaptive learning features support (or sometimes challenge) language acquisition. Through this, I reflected on what works well for learners, what could be improved, and how language learning apps can better align with real-world learning principles. This project gave me hands-on insight into the intersection of language, technology, and design.
